Horizont Európa program keretében pályázóknak szinte kötelező olvasmány az Európa Bizottság által a pályázatokat elbírálóknak készített összefoglaló tájékoztatója. Ezt a háttéranyagot minden bíráló előzetesen megkapja, az ebben szereplő szempontokat a bírálati folyamat során szem előtt kell tartaniuk, de az átláthatóság jegyében természetesen nyilvános a dokumentum.

Egyáltalán nem fontossági sorrendben, de nézzünk néhány a folyamat során a bírálók által megválaszolandó kérdést:

1. Is the contribution of the project towards the 1) expected outcomes of the topic and 2) the wider impacts, in the longer term, as specified in the respective destinations of the WP, credible?
2. Is it clear how expertise and methods from different disciplines will be brought together and integrated in pursuit of the objectives? if applicants justify that an inter-disciplinary approach is unnecessary, is it credible?
3. Are critical risks, relating to project implementation, identified and proper risk mitigation measures proposed?
4. Does the consortium include expertise in open science practices, and gender aspects of R&I, as appropriate?
5. For topics flagged as SSH relevant, does the consortium include expertise in social sciences and humanities?
